This year for our 8th the event proceeds will go directly to the Charitable Fund of the KIWANIS CLUB OF WILLIMSPORT.   The 5kRun4kids has raised and given out over $60,000 to local charities in the last 8 years.  Since 1919 the Kiwanis Club of Williamsport & the charity fund has provided hundreds of thousands of dollars to support to needs of local charities. 

The club was organized in 1919 with the principal of helping children. Since then, this all-volunteer club has helped thousands of local children. The Kiwanis Club of Williamsport has made thousands of dollars in donations and have helped organizations like the Children's Heart Clinic at Geisinger, Lycoming County Foster Children, Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Salvation Army, Laurel Youth Services, the American Rescue Workers, the American Red Cross, and orphanages in both Rwanda and in Bulgaria. The club's membership has adopted the Kiwanis International spirit and motto, "A global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time." Each month, the club receives requests for chartable donations, some requests from local residents who are volunteering around the world.  By supporting the Kiwanis Club, you’re supporting children.
